WIDER Delivers Personal Mastery Training to Tripoli Entrepreneurs’ Club Startup Community

Lebanon – March, 2020 – As part of its mission to nurture meaningful transformation across Lebanon, WIDER Group has delivered a distinctive series of pro bono training sessions to the Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club (TEC). The sessions focused on The Cornerstone of Interpersonal Skills, Communicating with Emotional Intelligence, and Setting Personal Development Plans, offering practical, deeply human tools rarely addressed in traditional entrepreneurship training.

Far from typical business workshops, these sessions explored the inner architecture of effective leadership and personal clarity, arming TEC’s young entrepreneurial community with insights to navigate not only markets, but themselves.

“At WIDER, we’re not interested in box-ticking training,” said WIDER Managing Partner Joe Moarkech. “We focus on helping people think, feel, and lead more intentionally. TEC shares that vision, and that’s why this partnership feels so natural and necessary.”

The sessions challenged participants to:

  • Rethink how interpersonal skills are built and sustained in fast-paced, often volatile environments.
  • Examine the practical role of emotional intelligence in negotiation, team-building, and decision-making.
  • Reflect on personal direction and discipline, and design development plans that are grounded in self-awareness rather than trends or pressure.

WIDER’s approach is less about “motivation” and more about structural alignment of values, behavior, and impact. The training emphasized how sustainable personal growth translates directly into sustainable business growth, especially in emerging economies like Tripoli’s, where resilience and self-leadership are not buzzwords, they’re necessities.

TEC, a leading social enterprise building a sustainable startup ecosystem in North Lebanon, continues to invest in entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. WIDER’s contribution complements TEC’s commitment to contextual, culture-aware, and human-first entrepreneurship support.

Both WIDER and TEC have committed to expanding this partnership with additional programs in 2025 that dive even deeper into the intersection of personal growth, social value, and entrepreneurial sustainability.

TEC is a social enterprise based in North Lebanon that supports and empowers talents and businesses through a culture-driven startup ecosystem. TEC’s customized programs accompany entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey, building a resilient innovation community grounded in sustainability and shared value.
